● About us

Located in the Southwest of England, Kingdom Services for Children aka KCS provides a range of “bespoke” trauma informed intervention services to children and young people in crisis and with complex emotional, learning, social and behavioural difficulties. Our ethos is, “love in action”, as love underpins all we do.

Our services include; homestyle residential care homes, supported living accommodation, respite care, edge of care intervention, contact supervision and educational intervention.

Our residential care provisions were created in response to a drive by the surrounding Local Authorities to have more specialist residential care provisions in the area to prevent children and young people from being placed far from home. We believe that children who are placed closer to home are likely to have better outcomes in life as this increases opportunities for them to have regular contact with their family and friends and likely to create a pathway for quicker reunification.

Our homes provide a therapeutic environment for children and young people in crisis to enable to have the best possible outcomes in life and that they are equipped with essential skills to enable them to be reintegrated back into their birth families if deemed safe to do so, transition into adulthood and go on to make a positive contribution to their communities.

Our Story

Our Values

Our values shape everything we do. They guide how we support children, young people, and families, and influence the way we work. These values are more than words — they are the foundation of our daily work and the standard we hold ourselves to.

  • We believe that all our children deserve to be treated with kindness and compassion.

  • We treat children and young people in our care with respect and dignity no matter their background, age and ability.

  • We believe that building trust with children and young people is key. We want children and young people to trust that we have their best interest at heart and that they can rely on us.

  • We believe that lasting change happens when we work together with our clients and with them being at the centre of what we do.

  • We are passionate about providing a high level of care to our clients. All our work is quality assured to ensure that we offer effective service delivery.

Our offerings

Our supported living provision offers young people safe, stable accommodation where they are encouraged and guided to develop the practical and emotional skills needed for independent living. We create nurturing environments that promote confidence, responsibility, and long-term stability.

Our respite services provide timely crisis intervention for children and young people, helping to stabilise situations and prevent placement breakdown. We step in with care, structure, and expertise at moments when consistent, responsive support is most needed.

Our family support intervention service was established to provide complementary crisis support to local authorities, schools, SEND teams, hospitals, and other public and private sector services. By working collaboratively with professionals, we strengthen the wider support network around children and young people affected by adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), helping services maintain high standards of care during complex and challenging periods.

We draw on a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches in our communication and direct work with children and young people. These include the PACE model, restorative practice, psychodynamic counselling, motivational interviewing, crisis intervention strategies, play therapy, task-centred practice, and child-focused care and pathway planning. Each approach is carefully selected to meet the individual needs of the child, ensuring support is both responsive and effective.

KSC is made up of a diverse and highly skilled team of support workers, youth workers, social workers, therapists, tutors, and residential managers. United by a shared commitment to “love in action,” we strive to be a steady and empowering presence for children and young people in crisis; supporting them to achieve positive outcomes and make meaningful contributions within their communities.
